just an anecdote on the phiii detailed results...

there were a couple of explanations for the headline result 53% ATC to 51% 3tc below detectable

the detailed results can clarify these, and the detailed results state the ATC arm had a viral load 0.4 log10 lower than 3tc

this difference, that was better than the phiib (slide 9 here, http://www.stocknessmonster.com/news-item?S=AVX&E=ASX&N=294563), and assuming somewhere around a total 1.8 log10 drop for ATC,

implies viral loads after 24 wks in the ATC arm were about half that in the 3tc arm!!!

I think this puts the % below detectable results in some context...! and promises some exciting times ahead...
