Btw has been common knowledge ever since the beginning of Virgin that Virgin pilots earn less than QAN pilots. Stands to reason really, Virgin commenced ops as a LCC with low wage structures in place. Many of the current pilots are the same pilots who opted to be employed in that environment, they will have to argue their case with management for sometime yet to get a result but I suspect that a reasonable outcome will be reached without to much industrial trouble.

Pilots, just like executive management, have a right to put forward their claim for a salary worth xx$. Of course the old management argument to justify their salaries is that you have to pay "market rates" to get the best. Ironically, they do not seem to understand that the same applies for all jobs.
