Virgin VAH will always be around as a second airline in Australia. No body wants Qantas as the ONLY airline...wouldn't the Leprechaun love that though...wouldn't the Australian flyer be ripped off blind as they have no choice as Qantas would have no competition...
The Government knows that...and the Government knows what would happen if Qantas were given sole rights as local carrier.

Besides, Singapore Airlines and Etihad are very unlikely to choose another airline conglomerate to include Qantas as their alternative carrier in Australia...
