Unfortunately VAH is foreign owned. It is a victim of its own doing.
While it may be hubris for QF to be vehemently against a bailout, AJ has a point. You have to watch your balance sheet. You can't make losses continuously and expect the government to step in.
In terms of tourism, nearly every country will be reeling. I also think the appetite for overseas travel will be subdued for sometime, including business travel.
I also doubt the Singaporean, UAE and Chinese government is interested in saving a minnow Australian airline that will undoubtedly be making further losses in the near future. Neither should the Australian government.
It was your decision to make VA your carrier of choice, not the Australian tax payer.
