    While I agree with you that nuclear has missed it's opportunity in Australia , I don't agree on the your view on the future of electricity.

    Kenny, who is largely just copying Shellenberger, is omitting a very important fact to suit his agenda. Using Australia as an example, renewable energy pays a very small part in the rise of power costs in Australia.

    The bulk of the rise in power costs in Australia is due to poor federal and state energy policy. Idealistic governments in SA and Vic forcing the early shutdown of fossil at the same time as east coast gas became available for export. Instead of having a comprehensive plan, which still doesn't exist, we are at the mercy of the market.
    Governments should oversee markets to make sure this doesn't happen. Instead, because of political differences, both state and federal and even inside poltical parties, we have dysfunction.

    The result. No energy policy. Turnbull nearly had something which could have been a good start but thanks to internal politics that opportunity was lost. It looks like it's going to be Labor that will be the party that will deliver it in the end.
