Looking at the whole electricity power model has generated (pun) a great concept for a solution to SA's water supply problems, in a sustainable and envitonmentally friendly manner. Steps are :
1) Negotiate a suitably generous contract for the supply of "Eco-water" to the relevant State authority, to be available when and if it rains.
2) Float a company, sell shares and raise funds with lots of "green" promotion
3) Import from China and spread and seal a few square kilometres of suitable poly tarp, draining to suitable temporary storage provided by SA Water resources. This will provide lots of healthy outdoor jobs during installation. Design note... each square kilometer will provide 100,000 cubic meters from only 100mm of rainfall! This input is FREE!!
4) Increase the price of existing non-renewable water to a fair market rate, say the current market rate for bottled water.
5) Existing water storages are a haven for feral aquatic species and rob the existing river systems of necessary inflows, as well as being responsible for an alarming number of drownings, so common sense would dictate that they should be eliminated as quickly as possible.
6) Import more poly from China to scale up to meet increased demand.
