If you think boat people are getting preferential treatments over Australians, how about asking your son to go to Indonesia, throw away all his documents, get onto a leaky boat, and head for Australia.
On arrival, he will be given some "preferential" treatments alright, detained for lengthy period behind barbed wire fence, free foods and lodging.
Make sure he does that before Abbott becomes the prime minister. You wouldn't want your son's leaky boat to be turned back or towed back to Indonesia by Abbott, would you ?
