The stores may well be busy but that in no way indicates their profitability, which is the guts of the issue.
The store can appear to be busy, but actually running at a loss.
That is, the overheads of of running the business, in particular the excessive input costs levied by RFG that are squeezing profit margins to the point of oblivion for some franchisee's. This was the main theme of the Fairfax article and which seems to have been forgotten.
