Both impressed me with their attitude, certainly no BS. These guys are certainly not another JOE (xtv)
The first two products about to come to market, are both concerned with battery management in data centres.
There are two problems and issues that have been idenentified, these are that within any large bank of batteries, which are vital for continuous power supply, the failure of a single battery can cause the whole bank to shut down. VX have developed a sensors based monitoring system, that takes the three main components of betters output, volts amps and load. The tech to manage each of these has been around for a long time, but there is no process whereby the threee input factors cannot be consolidated at present. The VX model allows for feedback on the three inputs and give instant warning of potential failure.
The second part of the battery work, and the next product to hit market is the monitoring of battery cooling, and development of cooling power monitors. This reduces the wasted energy utilized in cooling.
There are a number of low tech ( from user end) but high tech in data harvesting, involving sampling and testing of soil levels, growth of trees, and yield in plantations in Indonesia and Malaysia.
The operators are assumed to be non tech savvy, so VX have developed a simple hand held device, that the samplers can use to track movement and sample collection. The secret here is to gather massive data, that can be then further analysis to determine effectiveness of growing conditions.
VX are also developing a food monitoring sensor, that can track the lifespan of stored and coked food, this is will allow customers to be able to provide compliance with the various standards required within the industry. There is already interest from some larger chains.
With respect to relationship between VX and XPE, a few comments were passed, effectively that since the appointment of Martin (whom the guys met recently) things will really start to take off- both Daryl and Greg told me that all of the various entities coming under the XPE umbrella had fabulous and innovative ideas, but there was a lack of infrastructure to put it all together. This does appear to have changed with the appointment of Martin, as he has the knowledge and exprcince to " glue it all together"

Both Daryl and Greg were exceptionally bullish on this - very much a missing link in the overall picture.
THE SIGNIFCANCE OF THIS AQUISITION WILL NOT BE NOTED BY THE MARKET - But it is an absolute master stroke.
There are a number of other projects that VX are engaged in, some will come off, but some won't.... including the three I wish to put their way!!
So for those that do not really understand what VX do, they build projects from sensor up into the IOT space.
Sensors are their base level, and then by using the data collected by the sensors, which can then be analyased the solution/ efficiently energysaving/reporting etc can be made.
Timeframe for first projects to produce revenue - earLyn 2017 - my estimate mid 2017, but can see a snowball effect shortly afterwards knowing the company they keep.
Probably more stuff, need to go through notes.
