None of the comments so far allude to the potential upcoming M&A cycle in gold and copper.
It's been a long time coming and I'm not going to try and call it exact but it should begin within months not years.
Can you feel it?
DEG- gor 20% stake in degrey with Barrick sniffing around.
CHN - off it's highs and exploration potential could move the dail. It will be bought out first.
RTR- potential tier one base metals.
Sandstone still to be consolidated. HRN and I've got a sneaky feel about AUN maybe doing something.
AOP - sold.
DCN- being accumulated.
GCY- suddenly finding its feet.
CAI- ripe - if it works.
What else is there to buy unless you want to pay through the nose or do a merger type deal?
RXL/VMC- unnoticed. 1 million ounces of millable ore and some semi refractory stuff in the mix but it's going to happen.
Barrick lookin at buying back into Aus is a big deal imo. Remember when they sold everything on the cheap because Australia was becoming too hard?
Not a great strategy in hindsight - the global risk situation playing out currently I'm not surprised they are looking at Aus and probably Canada or expanding in the states. (However gold in the U.S perhaps slightly on the nose still with the U.S dollar a massive joy kill).
