Uk company looking into a 1 billion dollar wind farm (offshore) in WA south west.
That’s Australis Energy already which apparently has farms in build phase in SA and Vic.

(not sure if they are using PMG’s in the above turbines though)

From what I’ve researched
PMG’s (permanent magnet generators) in wind turbines are growing from around 30% usage in 2018 to approx 60% and higher over the next 10 year period.

PMG’s have less weight, no gears, less maintenance and offer higher efficiency , especially useful for those Wind Turbines which are in less accessible positions like offshore where maintenance costs can be high.

Also read there is potentially like approx 60 wind farm projects coming into production in the next 5 years in Australia worth around 30b.
