This was a making some headlines in the US and quite relevant to the industry. MP Materials, Arafura, a number of chinese rare earth companies all getting hammered in the past 24 hours. VML held up pretty well given the backdrop today.

A couple of aspects the CNBC pundits noted was that even if Tesla had released their next generation model, it would be likely 2024 that it could go into production. Given that they didn't have a model to release for their next generation, it would likely be 2024/2025 that this would be released.

Also, Elon has been promising so many things and not delivering with Teslas.
    - Self driving is still a pipe dream many years down the track
    - He took out radar sensors to use camera only technology, only to backtrack within 1-2 years to including them once again in the future
    - Remember... that older Model S and X have traditionally not used rare earth magnets, and even some (short range) Model 3's didn't use them, until a pivot in 2018 to use them in long range Model 3's. So there already has been some back and forth within Tesla to seek alternative solutions which only resulted in them returning back to rare earth magnets.
