    "If the government are having to stump up ALL of the money, then its probably not viable." - that would only occur in the event of conflict which the US introduced legislation for post ww2.

    The legacy manufactures are fubar. My personal opinion is that they should continue with their stupidity and go broke. They have fought the trend and there are only a handful of comparable options for consumers, none of which are built by them.

    The demand is already there, the CCP was buying any and all resources that any foreign gov would allow. The reason was obvious, they didnt waste time bitching about Tesla and tooled for electrification. Sign up the CCP and make them pay for sas. Who the hell else are going to sell to.

    This anti-ccp BS is insanity and its going to be the hill we die on.

    @AndyMzz governments introduced the very fiscal policies that killed the industry 40 years ago. If they are legitimately attempting to convince the domestic private sector to invest then they need to provide incentives, particularly given how far ahead our competition is as a direct result of gov decisions.
