1. Magnets of all kinds (not necessarily for EV's) hold about 30% of the market demand for REE.
neodymium and praseodymium are used in high-power magnets; dysprosium, samarium, and terbium in high-temperature magnets and holmium is used in very-high-power magnets
neodymium magnets made from neodymium, boron and iron (neo magnets) - wind turbines, EV's, MRI (big growth here)
Samarium-cobalt magnets - military applications..can handle high temp and unaffected by EM pulses.
2. Catalysts - cerium and lanthanum. Petroleum refining, catalytic converters. About 25-26% of the demand.
3. Glass, Advanced Ceramics, Polishing. - lanthanum, erbium, ytterbium, neodymium, cerium oxide
Then you got battery (renewable energy storage), medical tech (Gadolinium), superconductor/semiconductor, consumer electronics, defence/aerospace, lighting and even agriculture!
