I just thought that there might be something about the 'emerging' picture in the speel and who better than our resident 'Portuguese surf bum' to help out. Ha!
But back to the Vammo stuff and why I find it interesting.......................and a lot of this is anecdotal - based on (social) media feeds.
But for context.......................
As we know Vammo started with baby steps in Brazil (under their original name Leopardo). Those initial steps seemed to work and they started to take some bigger steps such as when they raised $30m a couple of months back to expand the operation in Brazil and into Columbia and Mexico.
and they have some interesting tie ups, particularly with Auteco
In any case, Vammo appeared to sample 4(?) models including Nui and Soco variants (VS2 and TS/TC models).
Over the last little while they seem to have gone full-blown CPx (again that is just anecdotal as I said). On their site, CPx does not even get a mention as yet.
But if they are going to expand into Columbia and Mexico (as well as grow the Brazilian arm) and they are leaning towards CPx then the $30m will buy a lot of bikes and (hopefully) battery exchange stations (which Vmoto are now flogging).
It seems Vmoto consider the CPx a bit of a winner as they have updated the model as well as launching the CPx Pro and Cpx Explorer.
It (the CPx) seems to sell very well and obviously has a good reputation with some of the industry players. Like Ad-Moto which is set to expand having 'proven' its model with its fleet of 100 CPx's in London. And its founder even appears to link "Cake's" demise with the dominance(?) of CPx
