The 'industry data' does not refer to EVs it is (mainly) ICE stuff.
I believe the tipping point is close to being a reality but that is a guess but that will largely be dependent on when the complete 'ecosystems' (charging and exchange networks) are in place.
That's why I am really curious about what is happening in LATAM and Brazil. I think it a 'relatively' easy to understand example.
