"Reads like they are 'flipped'. Any 'leasing experts' here?"

I was told many years ago that a big part of the business model of the large car hire companies, such as Hertz & Avis, was to flip most of the cars within a year. This was because they bought in such volumes that they were able to negotiate deep discounts (I heard 40% plus), and by flipping them quite quickly they could actually on-sell them at a profit. This also kept their vehicle fleet near new and service costs to a minimum. I'm not sure if this is still the case.
