I agree / empathise with your sentiment and that of Foot as it relates to social media relating to opinions by posters.
My 'conversion' came when my young adversary (a la first post on this thread) lead me review my thinking about social media and divide it into 2 segments.
1. Opinions/views like this site versus
2. companies (and their people) using social media to publicize their activities that might not (in themselves) warrant an 'exchange' announcement.
In the case of the example I cited about Revolt, Vmoto could not 'announce' that because of the degrees of 'separation' but the info implicitly/explicitly related to their impending financial performance.
As to the difference between opinion and 'fact', the opening of the 'order book' is factual. Not an opinion. So I'm buying it. Does that make sense?
