Hi
Sorry for so many questions
I have been trying to follow the battery exchange story and hoping you can fill in a couple of blanks as it seems different in each country.
I get eth battery exchange idea a sbusiness doesn't want downtime and doesn't want to have charge cables all over the shop.
From what I can see there is no standardised battery size?
No standardised battery connector?
So locker style ones have a couple of cables or adaptors in them I guess? As demand for differnet types , charging rates changes tehy update cable sand hardware in locker so or complete locker unit as new models with differnet batteries and charging abilities change
Is there any agreement between bike buidlers to use a standard shape modular , size battery, connector? Is it likely that a standard will happen or with different bike shapes it will always be different?
I can see that commercial users will drive this as they get most value from electric motorbikes and quickest return and need 100% avaliability by using lockered charging battery bank . Smartest members of public will buy bikes that are able to be fitted with compatible batteries to commercial bikes.
What stops you putting a near dud battery into a charging locker and collecting a good one - - as a member of charging locker system is there an initial buy in - ie new battery cost. If there isn't you could basically become a member and switch out a bad battery .?
Still surprised there is not more demmand for electric bikes as I thought teh change over for scooters would be so fast but charging , speed , battery cost all seem to be issues and locker system seems to solve much of that and shoudl expand.
In othe rcountries UK , Australia , Asia Europe mexico south america just wondering if it petrol stations that are placing lockers on premises or are other smart businesses driving the installation as it is all about convenience? As lockers get smarter you will obviously be able to list a time to collect and switch battery and probably demand billing o try and make sure demand is spread throughout day / night ?
