There have been some stand out decisions and alliances that set VMT up as a boutique player in the low volume, high margin end of this evolving market. 300,000 units when the economies recover should not be a big challenge

The foundations are certainly being put in place with the expansion of the product range and distribution network.

I had a look at Harley Davidson, which was owned by MV Augusta, Giovani Castiglioni's family company, to see what sort of margins they are able to achieve and how the down turn that started in 2022 has affected their sales and margins.

    The key take aways are

    * their profit margins. GP 30+%. NP 15 + % have held up during the recent downturn
    * how the average price increases when sales numbers drop. High end sales are less affected by a decline it seems.
    * How much live wire has been loosing which makes the decision to JV with Super Soco rather than merge a very astute one.
    * How Live wire sales have been decimated in 2023 with higher price units dominating.
