Now why doesn't another PR slip-up surprise me ? Anyway, amidst the undoubted excitement about new models, the thing to watch for is a glimpse of a plan to sell the bloody things in volume. So, if/when we get some kind of investor-oriented announcement (too much to hope for ?) about the new launches, we should really expect to see some accompanying commentary on market positioning, target sales and so forth, otherwise it's just toys for boys stuff and that's not what we are about. Clearly they are having fun with this, and clearly the launch should drive sales and profit (otherwise why do it) but I really hope that there's someone thinking about the business case rather than just the eye candy. I wait in hope, and hope to be pleasantly surprised, but will not exactly hold my breath until a joined-up plan is revealed from inside the fortune cookie ! 2000.
