A merger is a win win for all parties. There is no transfer of money but an exchange of shares to be an owner of a bigger company with a bigger market capitalization. This will speed up the opportunity to be included in any S&P indexes and bring a more stable entity to the ASX. Opportunities like that are not often, an additional location in a tier 1 territory will do wonders for any company. Unless some carrots are used as an incentive to get shareholders in VMY to go over, VMY should go alone till a reasonable attractive offer is made. VMY does have some desirable tenements.
