This act of stupidity will make someone feel better. I placed a buy order at $1.85 last week but it had been sitting in low $1.90 since. Last night I logged on to Commsec to cancel my order due to the cap raising as I rightly assumed they would be available cheaper today when they re-opened.
While canceling the order my computer froze up but I was sure it had gone through so I went to bed to sulk after QLD won the football for the 7th straight year. I sit at my desk today and get an email telling me I am the proud owner of a large portion of VOC shares at $1.85 each, apparently the order remained.
Taking a long view I like their growth opportunities, they seem well run, have a low PEG ratio and now have plenty of capital to grow more. No one likes overpaying, and I'll be dirty today, but long term overpaying by 8 or 9% won't change the world. C'est la vie
