I also contacted Wireless nation with an enquiry about Sky satellite dishes. Some interesting feedback provided with a more detailed explanation (though the answer is still "Christ no! Whaddaya thinking about?!".

"You will not be able to use/modify the sky dish to use it as a 2-way antenna for connecting to the LEO satellites. It is not impossible, but very close to impossible. The curvature of the dish will need to be modified, the arm holding the electronics will need to be adjusted so that the focal length is exact, motors will need to be set up so that it will automatically track LEO satellites as they fly across the sky etc."

So yeah, basically you would need an entirely new dish that is actually fit for purpose for LEO satellites!
