@Wazza3006; throughout Australia local government is highly variable, ranging from OK to corrupt and fraudulent.

It's often the plaything of wealthy land developers and business people at the expense of everyday ratepayers.

Then there's the little matter of transparency - something for which local government is not known.

In contrast; our state governments are sovereign, they're fully accountable and now even have Ombudsmen/women, IBACs/ICACs checking up on them.
