Quite true because if this country had not been settled by anyone let alone the British in 1788 then there would be little change as to the way the Aborigines would be living today. They would still be living a semi nomadic hunter gatherer existence with tribal wars continuing unabated. It was a conglomerate of some 250 odd differing tribal identities; it was never a one Nation! And now under Labor we are possibly heading for that reality again!! It is virtually impossible for Aborigines to better themselves unless they do it for themselves but unfortunately most don't have that ability. You can't change their DNA!!!! Plus no Aboriginal voice will ever do it either!!! Therefore, nothing will change! If their conditions etc were going to change they would have done so years ago. After all governments of all persuasions have thrown everything baring the kitchen sink at them! I'm sorry to say but it's a hopeless cause!
