Are you referring to things like academics totally discrediting 'truths' like those from Bruce Pascoe?
People are just fed up of the re-writing of history from recorded facts made at the time they happened, to the 're-imagined truths' passed down through generations like chinese whispers that wouldn't even stand up as evidence in a law court.
What's the point? It'll make a few people feel good for the day & then what? It won't achieve anything to solve any of the gap issues.
What it is however is a way to lay down the groundwork to try & inflate any treaty payout. That's what the Statement from the Heart is really all about, getting more & more money.
