It is fine to talk about how cheap the phone calls are and that is why people will subscribe to it, but that is only part of the equation. As an investor all I see is that there is not much income coming in the door. So when you take into account the costs of setting up a network, hiring the people to maintain and run it, maintain the software (that the vendor will not support in the future), and then try to attract customers on to this new technology; how is all that going to be covered by customers paying sweet FA? The various VOIP businesses have engaged in ridiculous price cutting to get the volume of customers they think is required to get into profit instead of working out what it really costs to provide the service and selling it with a margin. Until then, as an investor, you are only funding the building of an asset that will be sold to someone else (at a bargain price) by the administrator when the company can not afford to keep providing the service.
