In places that don't have running water or reliable electricity but a solid mobile phone 2G network to set up their office, on the side of a filthy polluted river I presume?

As I've said repeatedly the management of ZIP are highly experienced telecoms professionals. They would have considered every one of the points you have made (and many others) in great detail before releasing products. Investors like K2 are not going to put millions of dollars into some half-arsed idea.
