Not that there is any immediate threat but I did read an article some time back that the most likely place for volcanic activity in Australia in the next 4,000 years is down in Dolly Dan Andrew’s Victoria.
Apparently 10,000 or so people visit the White Island Volcano each year. I guess being only a few hundred metres above sea level makes it look meak and mild. Given its sub-sea extent, I wonder if it would be seen as far more intimidating if most of it was above sea level,
If it was extending thousands of metres above you, it most likely would command a lot more respect than it has to date.
