64 I think you are looking at it too simplistic.
Greece has a larger population and its debt levels are much higher than what Michigan as a state of America is.
The impacts of Greece failing is much more significant due to bank loans, the populations and it being a country - social welfare, health etc.
Michigan failing like Greece is very unlikely as they industry is sustainable if managed correctly and Michigan as a state do not need to pay social welfare to Michiganians.
