I gather your technical mate is not a geologist otherwise he may have told you that not all arsenopyrite or pyrite hosted orebodies are refractory. The paragraph quoted in no way would lead me or anyone else to believe the orebody was likely to be refractory. In fact, the leach tests provided in 2015 (from many, not one hole) crushed to 75 micron (not fine), returned between 84%-91% recoveries. So no clue here. The only evidence is from this ONE core hole. Why they would only sample one hole is either slackness or they didn't suspect a problem. I'd like to think the latter, so undoubtedly would their management and shareholders!
Gold deposits vary in grade, alteration and recovery etc. Whilst I'd agree that this recent work suggests that the Namdini orebody is in part refractory, the previous results would suggest otherwise. Too early to call IMHO.
