my view is that we have lost sense of natural lifespan because we medicate and treat the aged precisely to keep them alive.
medicating the hell out of people (no pun intended) means that one cannot know what their natural lifespan might be.
once upon a time in some communities the aged took it upon themselves to respond to the signs of living beyond “their use”. What’s right or not right? We have been brought up with a moral code that says suicide is a sin?
To what extent are any views not informed (even if subconsciously) by this deeply held code?
