    The Ceramic Fuel Cells GmbH, based in Heinsheim has requested the preliminary insolvency proceedings.Australian parent company already in voluntary bankruptcy. Future of High-efficient mini cells BlueGen still uncertain. Service agreements are still met.


    The product of the Australian Ceramic Fuel Cell Ltd., a high temperature fuel cells with extremely high electrical efficiency was promising. "The BlueGen fuel cell had 60% such a high electrical efficiency, how it was only known from large gas and steam turbine power plants (CHP) knew," says Markus Gailfuß from CHP Resource Center. The fuel cell BlueGen the CFC group was a hope of the fuel cell scene. Nearly 600 solid oxide fuel cell with an electrical output of 1.5 kW and a thermal output of 0.6 kW have been installed in Europe in recent years.

    On March 4, based in Heinberg Ceramic Fuel Cells GmbH has requested the opening of the preliminary insolvency proceedings at the district court in Aachen. This was necessary because no funds more by the Australian parent company of the German subsidiary could be paid. The Australian fuel cell company Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited was appointed voluntary administrators on 1 March 2015, which will run the business until further notice. Trading in shares of Ceramic Fuel Cells Ltd. (CFCL) was suspended on March 1, 2015.

    In an interview with the CHP Resource Center Managing Director of CFC GmbH let it be known that the operation would continue with around 40 employees. Also, the customer service and the contractual obligations of the full maintenance contracts are currently being implemented.

    Insolvency hits the fuel cell company to an inconvenient time. In a few weeks the new generation of fuel cell stacks should be presented. This should keep for up to 7 years, nearly twice as long as the currently installed fuel cell stacks.

    The company is now looking for investors in order to continue the technically successful work.
