Smoke can provide a conductive path between high voltage lines so brigade members are told to stay well clear of high voltage line during a situation. Burnoffs are also conducted well clear of lines. Farmers would be well aware that this the case so they would feel somewhat vulnerable knowing their property or part thereof would be potentially excluded from firefighting operations. Also airborne firefighting ops are banned within a certain exclusion zone.

Our little brigade has nothing to do with the CMFEU and are just local people who really care for their community. I relish every moment I am a part of it.
