I have indeed eaten cat and thoroughly enjoyed it, though at the time I thought it was rabbit (wouldnt have made much difference, lol)
It was presented to me as a charred corpse pulled out of the campfire by my indigenous friends. I ate every piece of meat on it, including the brain. Washed down with copious swigs from the "plagon" of Muscat.

GZ: (beltch) "plurry good rabbit, that fella"

Friend : "Not rabbit, cat".

GZ : "Oh, plurry good cat, then".
A first time for everything, eh?

An hour and a bit and 40 miles across the lakes, I was hanging out the door of the Landrover heaving my heart up.....no, wasnt the cat, it was the Muscat. They had it well laced with metho, which I didnt taste at the time......but I could smell the fumes as I was chundering.
Wasnt game to light a smoke for a while, lol.
Was first (and last) for metho, too.
