30% more power than what? And when was the statement made? Tesla has upgraded its own batteries. 2170 is, I understand, their current cell specification but it may not have been the battery in the Tesla that was being compared at the time the statement was made.

"Predominantly vanadium" respectfully, doesn't make sense. Predominantly vanadium by battery weight or by input cost or by what metric?

As I understand the Benelos battery is supposed to use a vanadium hybrid (hybrid with polymer) cathode - so it is not a redox flow battery. It is, I think, a lithium-ion battery with an improved cathode - but I could be wrong about the lithium ion bit, without some specifications as opposed to salesy-speak it is hard to know.

A residual concern I have about vanadium batteries is that so much of the price of the materials in the batteries is the vanadium itself. About a third vs a few percent in the case of lithium. The reason that is potentially a bad thing as opposed to a good thing is that alternative batteries or storage technologies might always be cheaper - if the price of obtaining the vanadium itself for the storage solution doesn't scale down.
