I've recently retired, mainly due to health reasons....previously salary packaged cars - but that went with the job. So now partial DVA is my income - along with my wife's nurse salary and a bit of super - and that will only be for a couple more years till she calls it a day. I have had a fondness for Volvos....goes a long way back. I see older Volvo S70 wagons - perfect size and features - from 2000 or before - going cheap. Anyone here had experience with them?....I just want something to do Bunnings and fishing runs...nothing fancy and 4WD (or turbo) not required. That said I'm not a Volvo infant - have had a 240 four cylinder many years ago and done timing belt, starter, fuel injection etc... myself.....So I can drive a wrench...Just wondering if anyone here has had a S70 and how they went. For anything serious we'll use my wife's recent Toyota which has cost us almost nothing....But I'm increasingly looking at the S70, compared to Falcon, Magna, and Commodore wagons - given the space, price (around $3k), and comforts....Just want something to do 10-20 kilometres per day...with lots of load space....reliably....and if not, something I can work on easily - and I do have previous Volvo repair experience LOL....So any S70 owners feel free to let rip...
