Interesting comment to make. Often people don't fully appreciate that buying shares in a company makes you a shareholder, or in other words an owner of the company.
Now my question is... If you were to fully own your own company would you be selling the company at a heavily undervalued or discounted price when the company is recording record profits and tremendous growth? I know I wouldn't be.
Now, there's no doubt that the entire sector has been running hot for the past few months, and we were certainly due for a correction, but does that mean we are in a downtrend now as you mentioned? No, I don't think so, especially considering the recent sell-off (if you will) has been on relatively low volume.
Even if we are in a slight downtrend at the moment while we find a base to pivot off, it'd be nonsensical to sell. That's akin to selling a good quality house undervalued just because the area you live in has seen a slight contraction in growth. Foolish.
