    We may dissagree on this but in no way imho can major shareholdings in another company be considered "cash equivalents". If it was shares in BHP yes, as they could exchange for cash at the prevailing price in an instant.If you look at LICs no one treats their holdings as cash, and often esp in times like this the discount at which the LIC trades to the market value of the holdings is quite steep.

    Yes, I chose to cut/limit my losses on COE, which does not cloud by view on COE. I have no regrets. My view on COE changed THEREFORE my selldown, not the other way around.

    Fyi, my view on ALL small oilers (and indeed to a lesser extent the entire market) has changed recently, including on IPM. yes I am more bearish on the sector. Why? Because the facts have changed.
