No worries Footmax Like you, I just read the reports and do my research. I originally put in about 60 hours while on holidays. Since then it has just been keeping up with announcements and the occasional deep dive when time permits. I work full time, and study medical engineering, part time, (in Brisbane). Replying to occasional posts is a nice change from all the study. (Procrastination is an art form). As far as I know, safety data is collected in every trial to some extent. Quite often the data takes a while to be worked through, and there are signs that data is often combined from multiple trials and re-examined at a much later date. In these two trials the safety part of it is gathering data for the DAIDS Table, which is a big deal with the NIH in the USA. It is mainly about patient feedback as to symptoms they experience while on AIDS medication that might be a side effect of the medication. All the trials seem to be following a logical order, IMO. I hold great hope that these last two will gather the data that provides the tipping point, so far as commercialistion is concerned.
Nothing is ever certain but, I for one, expect that these seemingly endless trials will end up being what brings about the data that ends this virus. One must keep in mind, all the i's need dotting and t's crossed as there is no real reason for big pharma to actually want a cure. All this repetition and extreme application of the scientific method is what gives me hope. IMO, eventually one of them will need to jump in, just to stop the competition from getting hold of it first.
