Vote by mail pitfalls.

    I, and many others, have been saying Joe is a place-holder for the eventual democrat candidate but I think time has run out for the switch.

    In the US, as here, you vote for an individual whose name is on the ballot, not the party. I didn't read the thread but there was a post a few days ago with the header something like "Early postal votes heavily favour Biden". If Clinton, for example, were to replace Biden then all those votes are orphaned, they are for a non-candidate and I doubt there is an "Oops" clause that allows a second vote. Votes are supposed to be cast on the day anyway, there is no excuse.

    I may be wrong, I claim no expertise.
