I have no concern with the institutional placement and will vote for it. What irks me is the special treatment for MR - I will vote against that. The institutions are investing pools of funds owned by lots of little people like us (ie they are managing other people's money, mostly superannuation). The instos can provide large licks of capital to help overstretched companies like AIO, and thats great, because AIO needed a really really large amount. However, MR is partly responsible for the overstretched position AIO found itself in, so no way will I vote for the special treatment he has negotiated for himself. MR's arrangement needs to be approved by shareholders, but given the large insto placement is locked in, AIO doesn't really need MR's money.
