Split the recent announcement has thrown more confusion into the matter.
Initially they say “We remain committed to collaborating with our joint venture partners and the Québec government todevelop a lithium carbonate facility at NAL."
In another breath they talk about NAL "Preference for a strategic offtake partnership is a model that could link intothe committed downstream plans for NAL."
Then they move onto talking about Moblan "Sayona is committed to downstream processing in Québec, supporting the Québec Government’s plansto become a leader in the production, conversion and recycling of critical and strategic minerals, inpartnership with local and Indigenous communities. The Board’s preference is to develop a downstreamoperating and supply model for Moblan that allows Sayona to produce the concentrate from the mineand link with an experienced chemical partner with demonstrated commercial technology........The Company is reviewing current timelines concerning production of lithium hydroxide derived fromMoblan spodumene concentrate,"

So is this a case of NAL will eventually produce Carbonate and Moblan will produce hydroxide?

Is it possible the agreement with the government is via Sayona supplying downstream and not the joint venture moving downstream?
