vote no on resolution 7, page-5

Red Tiger, Sakestler08 is correct, neither the directors nor their associates can vote on Resolution 7.

Rough figures:
Directors and associates hold 502 million of the 1.3 billion shares on issue therefore there's a maximum 800 million votes can be cast and 400 million votes are needed to defeat the resolution. The number to defeat is in fact likely something less than 400 million because typically a significant number of shareholders, even major shareholders, fail to vote at AGMs.

Undoubtedly directors' mates also hold a significant proportion of shares able to cast a vote and are unlikely to vote against but I'm not convinced that the resolution can't be defeated particularly if a few of the top 20 shareholders could be prevailed upon to vote against.

If everyone here who's disheartened by Resolution 7 cast a "no" vote we'd have a start and at the very least we'd be sending a strong message to the Board. If people also reviewed the list of top 20 shareholders per page 74 of the Annual Report to see if we can identify prospects for a no vote then more progress might be made.

Particularly, does anyone know of Kenneth John Bull (158 million shares) and Ucan Nominees (122 million shares)?

Does anyone know the law regarding access to the members' register? There's not so many shareholders in this company that a concerted campaign can't be organised.

Red Tiger you said you own about 3 million shares so Resolution 7 is going to cost you real money - by your own calculation way over $10,000 and sufficient I suggest to justify a real good look at whether the resolution can be defeated. And yes, your 3 million won't by itself win the day but it's 0.75% of the total needed to defeat the resolution. Just you and I together have some 2% of the absolute maximum needed so don't tell me that we on Hotcopper are altogether insignificant.
