Understood. However, NZ and AU have never been the bastions for SMEs seeking funding. We are a backward country here in Australia. So no surprises there.
The US and Europe are an entirely different story. Funding there should be a breeze for any company in the tech space.
Don't get me wrong, funding is better than no funding, and it is always more reassuring than not when directors have skin in the game. However, whenever directors lend money to their own ASX-listed firms, the first question I always ask is, why is this necessary?
When lending from a third-party lender, the motivation is to grow and pay it back, however, that same motivation may not be there if the loan is from the directors, who have a debt-to-equity option.
