Not sure I agree with this. My best returns ever have been from specs that MADE IT. You don't get many in your lifetime but when you do..... I've seen far more trades squander great opportunities by selling way way to early but yes you do have to be a lot more stricter when investing in specs and you should not risk a lot of cash. Any sign of inappropriate dealings and its time to move on. Factually very few specs make it.
