I got a call but it sounded like a market research company. This sounded a bit desparate, so I immediately voted "no" and am perfectly happy if the bid fails.Scanning this post, I can see about 250k shares (including my own) strongly indicating a "no" vote. Not enough to swing the whole vote, of course!! But, the bidder now has to go out and rustle up 750k "yes" votes.....in addition to gathering enough to counter AUSTSuper, Perpetual etc. As the path to 75% "yes" gets steeper, it is hard to imagine the bidder would not think about a better offer. Small shareholders can do more than just complain about these takeovers at low valuations.......They can (and should IMHO) vote. Lowball offers are founded on the correct assumption that the index funds and small shareholders will just go with the flow . Bear in mind, the biggest single political movement in the US is not Dem or GOP......it is "Did not vote" and look at how that is working out.
