Terrible decision and Tonagh didn't adequately answer any of the questions, simply referring to the Independent Board's Recommendation. Mittleman ended up taking profits and scramming. I don't blame him. No one of note - not even the media - was showing any interest in stopping this opportunistic bid from getting up. Only a few lonely souls on a share forum.
VRL made the Election Forms to choose to go private, by way of old-fashioned paperwork, making it all that much more difficult in the event you chose to have 50% (or 100%) of your shares go private into the new entity. You had to print, sign, scan, email, etc etc. No so for the voting, all that was electronic, of course.
They knew exactly what they were doing, every single step of the way.

The Federal Court decision on 15 Dec will close this long and sorry saga about a company that offered so much, and gave so little. Goliath won today. The common man's voice was muted. And minority shareholders discarded like used movie tickets. Unlike the movies that come out of VRL, it's not always a fairytale ending.
