Def hanging on until the IE's report which will hopefully (and should) be a quality doc. without any of that "fair but not reasonable" legalistic bs.

IMO, an offer is 'fair and reasonable' or it's not.

Re independance, I am reminded of the words of Sir Humphrey Appleby: a train is independant but if you lay down the tracks for it, that's the direction it will go. Hopefully no track laying going on here.
